We are proud to be a small, caring and inclusive village school, nestled in the heart of Alderbury near Salisbury in Wiltshire. With just five classes, we have a wonderful family feel, where every child is known, valued and supported. We welcome children aged 4 to 11 from our local community and surrounding areas, creating a close-knit school where children, families and staff work together.

At AWGS, our Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. We believe education is a shared journey, built on strong relationships, kindness and a sense of belonging. Guided by our vision of Foundations for Life, we give every child the confidence, encouragement and opportunities they need to grow into happy, compassionate and curious learners.

Our curriculum is rich, creative and engaging, inspiring children to ask big questions, explore new ideas and develop a lifelong love of learning. Across all subjects, pupils are encouraged to think independently, solve problems, express themselves creatively and aim high. Through memorable and meaningful experiences, we help children develop the knowledge, skills and personal qualities they need to flourish both now and in the future.

Being a small village school means that our community is at the heart of school life. We celebrate our individual strengths while supporting one another and our pupils benefit from strong relationships across the whole school. Our family feel extends beyond the classroom, with children, parents, staff and the wider community working together to make AWGS a special place to learn and grow.

We are proud to be part of the Pickwick Academy Trust, working collaboratively with other schools to strengthen our educational offer and support our pupils’ wellbeing, development and achievement.
