School Uniform

Uniform Requirements

School uniform plays an important role in creating a sense of pride, identity and belonging. All children are expected to attend school looking clean, smart and ready to learn.


Everyday School Uniform 

All children must wear:

  • Plain white collared shirt (polo shirts are acceptable)

  • Royal blue sweatshirt (ideally with a school logo but knitted jumpers or cardigans in the correct blue are acceptable)

  • Grey or black:

    • Trousers or shorts

    • Pinafore or skirt

    • Or a blue gingham summer dress

  • Dark coloured shoes only (black, grey or deep navy)

    • Trainers are not permitted for everyday school wear

    • Boots above the ankle are not permitted

  • Socks must be white, black or grey (ankle or knee-high)

Many standard uniform items can be purchased from large clothing stores in Salisbury.

School-branded items (sweatshirts, fleeces, PE shorts, PE T-shirts, PE bags and book bags) are available to order here.

 


PE Kit

Each child must have:

  • White T-shirt

  • Blue shorts or skort

  • Trainers

  • A named drawstring PE bag

All items must be clearly named.


Jewellery, Watches and Accessories

  • Jewellery must not be worn in school, except:

    • A single small stud earring in each ear

  • Jewellery must be removed or taped for PE lessons.

  • Watches are encouraged to support time-telling and maths skills.

    • Watches should not be expensive or flashy.

    • Apple Watches, mobile phones and other smart devices are not permitted.


Hair and Appearance

  • Hair accessories must be small and understated.

  • Children should attend school neat, tidy and in full correct uniform each day.


Pre-Loved Uniform

  • We do hold some pre-loved uniform in school.

  • Please either ask at the School Office or email in to admin@alderbury.wilts.sch.uk and we will endeavour to support you to find what you are looking for.
