FAWGS – Friends of Alderbury and West Grimstead School

Welcome to the FAWGS page for Alderbury and West Grimstead Church of England Primary School! FAWGS (Friends of Alderbury and West Grimstead School) is our hardworking parent-led group dedicated to supporting the school community and enhancing the educational experience for all pupils.

What is FAWGS?

FAWGS is a voluntary group made up of parents and carers who give their time to organise fundraising activities and social events throughout the school year. The funds raised are used to benefit the children directly by enhancing school life beyond what the standard budget can provide.

What Does FAWGS Do?

FAWGS plays a vital role in enriching our school community by:

  • Raising valuable funds to support school initiatives and resources.

  • Subsidising class trips to make them more affordable for families.

  • Purchasing equipment and resources that enrich learning and play – for example, FAWGS has helped fund a suite of 25 laptops for pupil use over the past few years.

Events and Activities

Throughout the year, FAWGS organises a variety of fundraising and community events. These not only help raise money for the school but also bring families together for fun and memorable experiences. Upcoming events and ways to get involved are communicated through school newsletters and the school calendar.
