About Us
Alderbury & West Grimstead Church of England Primary School is a welcoming, vibrant primary school serving children aged 4 to 11 in the villages of Alderbury and West Grimstead near Salisbury in Wiltshire. We are proud to be part of Pickwick Academy Trust, joining the family of local schools in December 2023 as an academy working collaboratively to ensure excellence for every child.
At the heart of our school is our vision: “Foundations for Life.” Inspired by the Christian parable of the wise and foolish builders, this vision reflects our deep commitment to helping children lay strong foundations not just in academic learning, but in character, resilience, and wellbeing. As a Church of England school, our Christian values of Kindness, Justice and Respect guide everything we do — shaping how we learn, behave and care for one another.
We offer a broad, enriching curriculum designed to spark curiosity and encourage enquiry. Children are supported to think critically, express their creativity, and explore new ideas with confidence and joy. We believe that when pupils feel safe, valued and inspired, they flourish — and this is at the core of everyday life at our school.
Our community is built on strong partnerships between staff, governors, families and our local church. Collective worship and spiritual development are thoughtfully woven into school life, giving pupils opportunities to reflect, ask questions, and grow in confidence. Pupils learn to show respect for diverse beliefs and backgrounds, preparing them to be compassionate and thoughtful citizens.
We are proud of the supportive, inclusive environment we cultivate and are delighted to welcome visitors to experience for themselves the warm and joyful atmosphere that makes Alderbury & West Grimstead a special place to learn and grow.
