Engineer

Being an Engineer (Design Technology) allows pupils to exercise their creativity through designing and making. Skills are taught progressively as the children move through the school. Evaluation is a key part of the design process and allows children to adapt and improve their product - a key skill which they need throughout their life. Children are encouraged to apply the knowledge and skills learned in other subjects, particularly Maths, Science and Art. 

There are enquiries that have being an Engineer as the lead state of being and many more where it is a second state. The reason for this is that engineering can be the vehicle for other states of being.

Our enquiries cover all areas of Design and Technology, from cooking and nutrition, to mechanical and electrical systems and structures. All teaching of DT follows the design, make and evaluate cycle.
