Who can help in school?
In the first instance, please speak to the class teacher.
We also have the following people who can signpost you towards "Early Help" which may or may not be school based:
Inclusion Manager: Mrs Caroline Wilkinson is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator. She is responsible for the following;
• Managing the day to day operation of the policy
• Co- ordinating provision and managing the response to the children’s needs
• Overseeing the records of children with SEND
• Acting as a link with parents and external agencies
• Supporting implementation of SEND strategies within the classroom.
ELSA: Mrs Kate Whaley and Mrs Carly Hill are our qualified Emotional Literacy Support Assistants and they work with individual children and groups as needed.
SCHOOL CHAPLAIN: Mrs Louise Pearce spends Tuesdays with us. She supports with whole classes, small groups and individual children.
At AWGS, we use My Family Coach to help our parents understand their children’s behaviour.
My Family Coach is a free website written by behaviour experts with 20 years’ experience working with over 5,000 schools. My Family Coach will support you through the tough times, inspire you with new ideas, and share practical tips to make parenting that little bit easier.
The school subsribes to SCARF, which provides resources to a support our PSHE programme. There are a number of resources for parents on their website.
