Historian
The present comes from the past and is based on the past. We cannot understand the present without understanding the past.
Through being Historians, pupils will:
Know about and understand the past so that they can understand the present.
Know that the way we are today is shaped by what has happened in the past.
Develop understanding of change in life.
Develop understanding of people, for example causes and consequences of actions
Develop understanding and question the use of power.
Recognise injustice and justice
Develop as citizens through their knowledge of how society has developed, for example through democracy.
Identify and understand their own place in the world
Develop as critical thinkers.
