• Alderbury "London" Marathon

  Thank you to everyone who came to take part and / or help with our Marathon event this morning! Between us all, we completed nearly 7 Marathons! We have already raised over £1000 and we know there is still sponsorship money to come in!

  

• Year 6 virtual cathedral service

  Year 6 attended the virtual year 6 service “at” Salisbury Cathedral on Friday. Here they are with their doves of thankfulness 

   

  

• The Royal Opera House comes to AWGS

  Children in Years 3, 4 and 6 enjoyed a wonderful opera workshop with professional singers from the Royal Opera House, led by Lynsey Docherty from local festival ‘Celebrate Voice’. The children were unaware of who was visiting them in the school hall and were surprised by a ‘flash mob’ of operatic singing! They learned several pieces, including ‘Nessun Dorma’ and sang together as a class for a final performance. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants and staff were impressed by the enthusiasm and confidence shown.

  If you / your child struggles to read black text on white paper, and has found the use of coloured overlays or bespoke glasses useful, you may like to take advantage of this offer from the Guide Dogs for the Blind. There will print a whole range of books on different coloured paper / type face / font size / etc, all for the same price as a regular book!
